U/S’s, Potty Training, Retreats & More

October 18th, 2009

Well we had our 20 week u/s on Oct 7th and it looks like we are having a boy! It is a little questionable since the cord was in that area but we are all pretty sure it looks like a boy! The baby is measuring right on target and all looks great!

We are on vacation this week and making yet another effort to get Morgan potty trained. Now that she is in pre-school and we have baby Jenne #2 on the way, it would be great to have her out of diapers. We’ve done a little more reading and hope our plan will work this time around. We started no diaper day on Friday. She wore a pull up most of the day since we had a long way to travel. Yesterday was her first real day of all underwear except at night. Naturally she had accidents because this is all new to her but the good news is she pooped on the potty yesterday and peed on the potty this morning! Woohoo! We are so proud of her. No accidents yet this morning but it’s still early. :) I wasn’t even expecting any potty success yesterday so we are delighted!

So we are on vacation in beautiful Franconia NH. It’s been pretty cold. It hasn’t been above 50 degrees anywhere. But we are having a fun relaxing time. We hope to do some sightseeing when the weather is sunnier out and do some shopping this week in North Conway and Manchester.

Our retreat in Queensbury, NY is coming right up. I will have to get busy once I return from vacation next weekend. I will have lots to do. I have lots of fun things planned. I think planning the agenda is one of my favorite things to do! I’m sure everyone is getting excited. I know I am. The spring retreat will be just around the corner before we know it. Coming up in April, this will be our first spring retreat. I have a feeling, seats will sell out fast!

Well, I’ve rambled on enough. My laundry is almost done. Hopefully I will have a few minutes to post here and there later on this week.

Morgan Started Pre-School Today!

September 21st, 2009

I found out last Monday that Morgan qualified for the Early Learning Program at the local elementary school in Middlebury. She met her teacher last week and joined in some of the fun activities while myself and grandma were nearby. She had a great time and has been looking forward to today all week! She will attend preschool on Monday, Thursday & Friday from 8am – 10:30am. I’m hopeful she will adjust quickly.

Her first day is today. Brad and I dropped her off at her classroom at 8am. I had decided early on that I would just give her a hug and leave rather then prolong this part of our day. Well, needless to say, she cried! And of course, as soon as I left the classroom I cried too. My guess is I’m having a tougher time of it this morning then she is. I can’t help but worry about how she is doing but deep down in side I know she is fine.

I am anxious to pick her up at 10:30am to see just how her day went! I will let you know the results of her first day when I return. :)

I Felt The Baby Today!

August 27th, 2009

Morgan had her annual checkup this morning and is doing well all around. She was very good and patient. Her pediatricians office is always great and do really well with her. So we are glad that she is a healthy little 3 year old!

On the way home from the appointment I felt a little flutter in my belly. I felt it again a few minutes ago. So baby is finally able to tell me that he/she is there and doing well. It’s always nice to feel the baby for the first time. :)

I Can’t Believe I Got A Speeding Ticket!

August 27th, 2009

I was coming home from Crystal Beach in Castleton on Tuesday and I got a ticket in Whiting! I missed the speed change from 50 to 40 and got pulled over! Ugh! Such a stupid mistake now it’s going to cost me $99. I guess that is my stupid tax for the month. Everyone beware, the cops have been out a lot lately looking for any excuse to give out tickets!

Ok, I guess I’m ready to announce our big news!!!

August 22nd, 2009

After trying for a year and a half and suffering through 2 miscarriages last year, I am pleased to officially announce that we are pregnant with number 2! We are in our 2nd trimester. We are relieved and excited to make it this far. Baby Jenne #2 has an estimated due date of February 21, 2010. We are going to find out the sex of the baby at our 20 week ultrasound.

Telling Morgan – We told Morgan 2 weeks ago while out to dinner. Her face lit up like a Christmas Tree. She is sooo excited. I made her a “countdown to baby” calendar with pictures to color so she can keep track of the long journey ahead. Because you know she wanted this baby here like yesterday! On our way home from telling her she told us she was going to help the baby tie it’s shoes (she doesn’t know how to tie her own yet), rock the baby to sleep and share her babies (her two favorite stuffed animals) with the baby. She was just too cute. Every time she hugs me she says “I’m hugging you and the baby.” This is going to be too much fun!

To keep up with the progress of little baby Jenne #2, be sure to check back often as I will be posting fun stories, updates and news right here!

I’m Baaaack!

August 22nd, 2009

Well it has been way too long since my last post. I have just spent the last hour writting 19 posts with lots of pictures on what we’ve been upto in 2009. I’m hoping to get back to my blog on a weekly basis so I don’t get this far behind again! I hope you enjoy the pictures and please feel free to leave a comment!

I will be back shortly with some more news to share, so stay tuned…..

Karen’s 50th Birthday!

August 22nd, 2009

We went on vacation in July to Killington with my inlaws. While there we celebrated Karen’s, my sister in-laws, 50th Birthday with a small party. She was to far to visit in Febraury when her actual birthday was so we thought we would celebrate it in July while we were all together!

Little Garden Helper

August 22nd, 2009

Morgan absolutely loved helping her Daddy in the garden. She helped him plant potatoes, onions and a few other tiems. Of course, she liked playing in the dirt best of all.
